The Grace Bible Church Annual Achievers Awards 2026 stood as a powerful demonstration of what becomes possible when vision, faith, and disciplined execution converge around a single mission: unlocking the potential of young South Africans from previously disadvantaged communities.
At the centre of this nationally respected initiative are visionaries — Bishop Mosa Sono, Presiding Bishop of Grace Bible Church, and Overseer Gege Sono — whose long-term commitment to education, leadership development, and spiritual grounding continues to shape a generation of high-performing learners. Their leadership has transformed the Achievers Awards into far more than a ceremony; it is now a credible institutional platform that affirms academic excellence, dignity, and future leadership.
Positives Group (Pty) Ltd was honoured to contribute, as part of our broader commitment to supporting education and developing what we call “local gems” — young people whose talent and resilience deserve both recognition and real-world opportunity.
The ceremony, held on 25 January 2026, drew high-level national and international recognition, underscoring the growing stature of the initiative. In attendance were Minister Buti Manamela, Minister of Higher Education and Training, and H.E. Ms. Nomvula Mngomezulu, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Poland, alongside a number of respected dignitaries from government, business, faith leadership, and civil society. Their presence sent a clear message: educational excellence in township and underserved communities is not a side issue — it is a national priority.
The event celebrated top-performing matriculants who achieved outstanding academic results despite structural and socioeconomic challenges. Each award recipient represented more than personal success; they stood as proof that excellence can emerge from any postcode when young people are given visibility, belief, and strategic support.
For Positives Group, this partnership is not a once-off sponsorship. It is part of a long-term philosophy rooted in our identity as an agency of Creative Scientists powered by local gems. We believe that investing in education is one of the most direct ways to shape South Africa’s future leadership class, innovation economy, and cultural confidence.
Beyond financial support, our team was present at the ceremony to engage with learners, parents, and educators — reinforcing our belief that meaningful partnerships require proximity, participation, and continuity, not just branding.
We extend our deepest appreciation to Bishop Mosa Sono and Overseer Gege Sono for their unwavering vision and leadership, and to the entire Grace Bible Church leadership, organising teams, educators, sponsors, and community stakeholders whose collective effort made the 2026 Achievers Awards possible.
As Positives Group, we remain committed to expanding our education and youth development initiatives in the years ahead — because the future of South Africa will not be built by chance. It will be built by intentional investment in young minds that are already proving they are ready to rise.
